Annika is a teacher and multidisciplinary artist originally from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She is a graduate of the Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance program from Sheridan College and also took the Royal Conservatory of Music Exams for both Voice and Theory. She is a 7-time recipient of the Provincial Gold Medal in Voice.

 

As a music educator, Annika’s top priority is helping her students develop a healthy relationship with their instrument and a positive outlook on their music education. She creates a judgment-free space with room to play and experiment, and motivates her students to be involved in their development as musicians. Growing up in a musical family and being a classically trained musician, she has a great interest in exploring different types of music and marrying them together to express who individuals are as artists.

Annika sang in a choir for 11 years. When she thinks of music, the first thought that comes to mind is community: where people gather, music will follow. In her day-to-day life, Annika is also a professional actor, musician, composer and copyist.
