Chris – Woodwind Teacher
Christopher is quickly establishing himself as a woodwind player, teacher, composer and arranger of note in Toronto. A graduate of the Humber College Bachelor of Music program and a dedicated student of several of Canada’s leading musicians, he has had extensive training in both the jazz and classical musical traditions. Supplementing his study of the clarinet, saxophone and flute, he has studied piano privately, completing his Grade 7 with the Royal Conservatory of Music. As a performing musician specializing in multiple woodwinds, Christopher has been involved with musical projects in a variety of styles, including jazz, classical and musical theater.
In addition to being a performing musician, Christopher enjoys sharing his enthusiasm for music with students as a woodwind teacher at Melody School. His teaching philosophy stresses the importance of learning the fundamentals of both the instrument and of reading music, while enjoying the learning process. Furthermore, he provides his students with a solid grounding in musical theory to give them a more comprehensive understanding of music and how it is structured. Christopher teaches students of various ages and abilities with a range of musical aspirations, and encourages students to pursue their own musical interests.
