Irisa – Piano Teacher
Irisa is a highly skilled and dedicated piano pedagogue and composer with a Bachelor of Music degree from the
University of Montreal. With extensive experience in teaching the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM)
curriculum, she has developed a creative and adaptable approach to piano and music theory
instruction, tailored to all ages and skill levels.
Her innovative teaching methods emphasize a deep
understanding of music, blending technical proficiency with creative exploration. Her piano
teaching philosophy is that learning a musical instrument is much like learning a foreign language:
it serves as a tool for exploring different cultures and broadening one's perspective. While
mastering an instrument is important, understanding music itself is the key to genuine creativity
and a well-rounded musical experience. Irisa believes that a deeper understanding of music allows us to perform with
profound insight and expression.
As an independent musician, Irisa is also a recognized member of SOCAN, with original music
compositions available on platforms like SoundCloud and Bandcamp, showcasing her versatility
and commitment to artistic expression. Irisa’s dedication to both teaching and composing has made
her a valuable contributor to the music community, inspiring students and listeners alike with her
passion for music.
