Verna holds a Bachelor of Music majoring in Music Education and Applied Voice and Piano. She has 30 years of teaching experience and has taught music theory, voice and piano. Verna currently teaches voice and piano at Melody School to students of all levels. She prepares her students to perform for recitals as well as various competitions. In 2021, she prepared her students for the Chicago International Music Competition where they won & Best Performance
in Musical Theatre. In the recent years, Verna taught at a Montessori Learning Center where she taught pre-school music.
